| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2007 12 oz bottle purcahsed at The Oak. Pours a deep dark brown with slight burnt orange notes on the very edges with a smallish off white head. Bitter sweet chocolate aroma, nutty, bready. Big malt flavor that finishes with a slight bitter sweet bite that quickly disappears. Very reminiscent of an English Nut Brown style but with a much thicker bigger body. Okay this smells like brown ale, seriously it has a malty roasty flavor with light hint at chocolate. Malty and roasty. Heavier than some browns. Some caramel and touch of coffee. Good. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Bottle. Mostly clear light brown with a brief loose white head. Nice nutty aroma with a hint of roast in the back. Somewhat creamy palate. Brief hint of bitter to start, then the nuttiness comes in. The finish suggests some roast and has a very slight hoppiness. A very good brown - it is far from being boring and the light roast would make for a good session brew. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada
