Commercial Description:
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

chocolate smell, dark amber/brown color, slight hops wearing the thin, toasty/nutty hide of a caramel beast...

pours a dark brown color with nice carbination and a thin relentless head. smell is malts, chocolate, alcohol, and coffee. taste is malty with some nuttiness, the carbination pushes the flavor well and is not too much, some burnt toffee and sweetness. has a certain bitterness as you drink it but is not bitter overall. one of the better browns.

draft. Pours dark brown color with little carbonation. Lightly roasted malts and nice body but maybe a little more carbonation would be nice. Not bad. I will probably try almost anything Avery makes. Cool that he named it in honor of his dog.
