| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 1, 2007 The pour was dark brown and ruby. The head was off-white and nearly two-fingers tall. A restrained aroma of nuts, sugar and floral hops. The flavor is a bit on the timid side as well. Nutty malted flavor with a bit chocolate. The finish is more on the bitter side than I expected. Not cloying at all. Watery mouthfeel. A decent beer that isn’t offensive or adventurous. zombywoof (358), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Bottle: Deep brown, slight ruby, large foamy light beige head, sticky lacing.   Roasted malt nose, slight coffee, a bit earthy.
On the tongue there seems to be a bit of lactose, otherwise a roasted malt bang, with a shot of stale coffee beans and unsweetned
malted milk balls.   Very soft notes of campfire or charred wood.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Slightly sticky on the
finish, and even a bit dry.   Fairly decent example.
