Jun 17, 2009 Pours darker brown with a reddish tint to it. Medium bodied. On the aroma I get malt, slight breadiness and a faint smell of hops. Nice lacing of the glass. On my palate I get upfront bread and malts, along with a slight hop bite. Sticks around nicely and also has great head retention.

Jun 16, 2009 Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. Very roasty aroma and flavor. Sweet chocolaty, coffee, and roasted malt flavor. with a slight hop finish. Good brown ale.

Jun 12, 2009 On tap at PP Carlsbad. Clear brown pour, small white head. Roasted malt, nuts, light chocolate, and brown sugar. Good brown ale, nothing amazing though, but that’s natural for the style.

Jun 8, 2009 Brown in color with medium tan head. Aromas of malty choc and coffee with similar taste. Finishes smooth brown sugar with a little hops. Definitely pick this one up if you havent had it.

Jun 7, 2009 bottle. pours a brown with a nice 1 finger tan head... lots going on in the aroma - nuts, roasted malts, sweet malts, coffee and chocolate. This is a very flavor-able brown ale. medium body with a nice burst of nuts and slight bitterness up front. soft on the sides with the chocolate taking hold. coffee on the back through the finish and more sweet malts up front at the end. very nice Brown ale.... this is right up there with the best of them.

Jun 3, 2009 Bottle from Ledger’s in Berkeley. Aroma of caramel malt, chocolate, and dark fruits. Flavor is nice and fairly complex with caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, fig, and hazelnuts. Palate medium. Great example of the style.

Jun 2, 2009 Pours a cherry cola flavor with little to no head. Aroma holds caramel, cocoa, citrus,and some cherry. Flavor is quite nice- chocolate, roasted barley, and a great classic brown ale taste. Good palate, really nice brew, especially for one of my less liked styles.
