Tasted slightly sour with a strong fig and spice combination. I didn’t think it was as bad as people say it was, just really not my cup of tea. Maria (6307), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2008 It’s golden with a white, creamy head. The aroma is sharp, spicy with notes of barnyard, yeast and light fruit. The flavour has sweetness and notes of fruit, barnyard, caramel, spice, figs and it’s complex and interesting. It ends on a sweet, dry and spicy note, and the brett is on an OK level for me. nuplastikk (1214), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

I’ve enjoyed the Avery Anniversary series from 10 up, 14 being my favorite thus far. I think this one is vastly underrated. Hazy golden-orange color. Pepper and Brett aroma. Complex herbal and fruit flavors amidst the mild sourness. Relatively thin on the palate, very refreshing dry finish. The figs work really well with the Brett taste. Good stuff. Not unlike a Stille Nacht in terms of fruitiness. tarjei (1755), Bryne, Norway

Aroma is very strong with dried fruit, citrus, figs - almost rotten, but not bad... Flavor is fruity, spicy with fine carbonation. A very special ale. allfreej (375), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Bottled. Frothy white head, good lace, hazy yellow pour. Lemon, dough, and a little barnyard in flavor and aroma. Medium bodied with a pleasingly dry finish. I think Avery did a great job with this one and was surprised it’s percentile was so low. I thought it was quite excellent. lamas (728), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Bottled in April 2008. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a huge and fluffy off-white head. A somewhat funky, sweetly floral aroma that features some lemons, pepper, Golden Delicious apples, hints of alcohol and that distinctive Brett smell. Medium body. Sweet and tangy upfront with lots of tart apples and a little citrus. Pepper and spices at the mildly dry end. Marsiblursi (1650), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Updated: Oct 26, 2008(Bottle) Pours light hazy golden with a medium, white head. The friendly side of the aroma is the spicy, woody, citric dry and brett-funky tones but the medium to heavily herbal/grassy, stale floral and too clean fruity notes is a problem for my nose. Hints of a orange/mild lemon juiciness, tart pears, green apples, overripe peach, prunes, figs, hay, coriander, pepper, milky cheese, dough, mild cherry perfume, plastic, honey and roses are all present. Dusty dry. The flavour is of citrus, brett, fruits, green vegetables, hay, grain, cracker, peppery spices, alongside mild floral/piney and woody hints. Starts light sweet but the finish is rather dry. Light to medium bitter. The mouthfeel light unclean, light sourish and dry with a medium carbonation. The aftertaste is of horse-like brett, citrus and dry malt. Medium bodied. Quite complex, quite mediocre... dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

A little fruit, but not distinct. I can’t tell what it is about this beer but it’s not that great really. Okay at best. Don’t get any distinct fig.
