Schroppfy (1733), Ohio, USA May 20, 2008 Aroma is stinky, cheesy, foot smell, barnyard, and pretty nice. Flavor is a little dull, not very sour, truly more of a brett beer without other additions as far as I can tell. A little peachy fruitiness. Needs time to develop, and I have a strong suspicion it will. I’ll have to put a few aside. Good effort.
DerBiermeister (378), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Oct 11, 2008 Decent brew, but with such a strange palate that I will probably not venture to try it again. Unique indeed, but very experimental this beer seems to be. MatSciGuy (261), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 [Bottle] Pours hazy gold with a small off white head. Aroma is tart and sweet with apple and pears. Flavor is brett, malt, fig, and shrimp. Quite funky. Moosington (15), Costa Mesa, California, USA Oct 11, 2008 Tap at Hollingshead. Medium amber color with tight but short lived head. Estery yeast and slight sour acid in the nose. As mentioned before, definite brett and floral qualities in the flavor, combined with a spicy/sour/musky finish. Good stuff, but would only do one per sitting. blklab2007 (570), Connecticut, USA Oct 10, 2008 22 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass has an orange amber color with a thin white fizzy head that fell quickly. aromas of brett, (green apple, sour grape, fruited yeast) floral from the hibiscus, white wine, light peppery hops, faint pineapple, and some sweetness. mouth feel is light with medium carbonation. flavor has some floral qualities, funk from the brett, lighter sourness, spice touches, and acid. finishes drying with floral giving a long duration. asheft (978), Marburg, Germany Oct 10, 2008 [bottle at EBF 2008]
Excellent sour woody horseblanket aroma with still some base malt. Pale peach appearance under no foam--sort of like my pee when I’m dehydrated. Thin and weak flavour with some woody herbal spice. Very unimpressive and uncomplex. Some apple notes. Light body and clean with elevated carbonation.
