fordest (1684), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Jun 28, 2008 Draft at O’Brien’s. Lots of spice in this beer. Aromas of black pepper and other saison like spices. Flavors were some fruit, floral notes, and more spice. Touches of sour on the finish that gave away the brett. Very good. Maybe better with time.
colemgm8 (368), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Aug 29, 2008 bomber. pours a brilliant golden with a solid white fluffy head. aromas of yeast (Brett) and not much else. nice and peppery on the front of the palate with an overall soft feel. I’m not getting any fig within this one as the label declares. solid finish with the yeast and tartness coming through. 21iceman40 (1669), north little rock, Arkansas, USA Aug 29, 2008 This was weird, very spicy, yeasty, and saisonesque. I’m not sure if i would have it again, but it was a very interesting tasting experience. I didnt care for the pepper vibe to it, but all in all it was a fun time drinking this beer. joergen (6257), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 29, 2008 Bottle.

Refreshing. oberabcbbsok (679), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 28, 2008 On draft at avery brewery. Nice and good tasting, medium bodied and not too strong. I liked it iowaherkeye (1382), rocking podunk Marengo!, Iowa, USA Aug 25, 2008 22oz bomber, no date from Brennan’s in Madison. Nice copy of the Bruegel label--or is it some famous painting?Fermented with 100% Brett? Huzzah!--hopefully. Clear medium golden with a 11/2 finger off-white head, good retention. Aroma has the undeniable aroma of brett--dry, lemony, leathery, and slightly buttery--with some light cherry cough syrup in the back-end. A little peach is present as well--smells pretty clean, actually. Flavor isn’t quite as nice, with straight alcohol and grain coming forth. I could pick up on only a hint of floral notes (hibiscus, perhaps?) with the white pepper coming forth towards the finish. Plenty of cough syrup notes as well. Dry finish, bitterness peaking around a 2-3 and sourness at a 2. Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Started out promising, but fell flat. I don’t care what Andy says, he’s wrong and a jerk.
