phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 12, 2008 This brew pours a sassy dark, brown colour with a vanilla coloured head. FUll of nutty aromas but not sweet. roasted nuts and tree bark. milk chocolate and cajun seasoning, tobacco and cigars in the taste. A bright lively mouthfeel and very tastey. Not too rich, which i liked :) blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 4, 2008 bottle, head quickly fades, has a muddy coca cola color with an alcohol raisin and malt nose, flavor is dry and ashen with some sour cherry, interesting finish of blue chees and a little smoke deadington (9), USA does not count May 28, 2008 this beer smells just like The Beast - but the taste is no comparison. Pours nice dark brown color, nice foamy head. Tastes like a sweet porter. blah blah blah. it’s ok for 4.99. Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 26, 2008 Bomber thanks to Nate. Very dark brown with a light beige head on it. Smells of fruity hops, a bit of a carbonic note, and cherries cooked in brown sugar. A rich smoky malt flavor. Dark fruit with some vanilla notes and a roasted coffee taste. Has a decent amount of richness. A lot of bitterness in the finish. Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada May 13, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Kryptic: Poured a deep hazy brown color ale with a big foamy head with some good retention and some nice lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt mix with some big caramel notes and some floral and medium bitter hops. Taste is a mix between roasted malt with some caramel malt with a dominant hops profile which includes some bitter and floral notes. Full body with what looks like minimal filtration with some good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I quite enjoyed that one and thought it was an interesting experiment which falls beside regular style and must admit that most Avery anniversary beers are really good. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2008 22 oz. bomber courtesy of Nate shared with Exec. Board. Pours black with chocolate, fizzy head. Raisin and brown sugar, roast, chocolate and slight carame, fing and apple. Medium body. Bitter at the end and into the after with accents of roast and diminishes the fruit. Very Impy Stout/Porter Esque. Decent. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2008 Thanks to Nate for sharing. Deep burgundy color with a large, rocky beige head. Smells very hoppy with grapefruit, pine, citrus, ginger, and light roasted malt notes. Entirely too hoppy for me in smell and taste. Weird, and not enjoyable. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2008 From bottle. Nice sweet hoppy nose, plum and grassy hops. Pine. Twizzlers. Mild ozone and light roasted grains. Alcohol vapor, rich and hoppy. Dark black-brown with cocoa-colored lacing head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet and rich with some caramel malt and brown sugar. Alcohol warming. Mild hoppy finish, fairly sweet. Big beer, very pronounced profiles, and still a bit hot.
