Commercial Description:
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Pours a very pretty, very dark ruby with a really nice creamy head. Leaves some awesome lacing. Cast iron and dark fruits in the aroma, with maybe a little bit spicy/citrus hop aroma supporting. The flavor is quite nice - Dark herbal chocolate coupled with a bunch of dark fruit/syrupy/malty sweetness. The mouth-feel is creamy and smooth, and pairs excellently with the flavor. Very tasty beer.

Aroma: fairly chocolaty, hops have faded it appears, definitely licorice, and for some reason I want to say cast iron. Flavor: quite a bit of chocolate. Finishes moderately dry with the chocolate staying strong all the way through. Mouthfeel is smooth and almost full enough.

Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head that leaves lacing. I can’t quite get the aroma. It’s got plenty of fruits in the nose and roasted malts, but something more. Almost like a stout but not quite. The aroma is coated with chocolates and plenty of spicy hops in the finish. There’s some alcohol following the chocolates. This is a very different type beer, but not bad.

Bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown, with a big, tan fluffy head. Prominent bands of lacing on the glass. Big plum aroma. Caramel, licorice, molasses. Fairly hoppy. Some nice chocolate. Pretty cool. Dried fruit flavors, with a rich brown sugar taste. Licorice, molasses, fig, nutmeg, and a nice spicy mouthfeel. Simply delicious. Bitter finish, and well-balanced. Surprisingly easy drinking. A very unique beer, and was definitely surprised by this one.

Sweet. Malty. Pours a thick head. The taste is hard to pin down. American Strong? Maybe. But nothing like other strong ales out there. Caramel and a bit of chocolate for sure. Nice dark taste. My sister hooked me p with this one. Much thanks.

Dark brown with medium brown head. Sweet aroma with notes of hops, grapefruit and caramel. Sweet flavor with hops, caramel and chocolate notes. Ends bitter.

(bottle - 22 oz) Murky brown pour with a thick tan head. About an inch of foam. Aroma is light with hints of dark malts, alcohol, and molasses. Flavor is bitter and malty at the beginning with a creamy and sweet middle and a very warming and bitter finish. Aftertaste is a mixture of malts, dark fruits, and molasses.

Solid strong ale from Avery. Pours dark and looks oily and thick but is not... would be better if it was ! However, the hops, the malts, the fruity flavors, the extremeness of the beer it all works. It’s a good beer to sample.
