Commercial Description:
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

A Mes rate: Bottle at RBESG. Can’t see what all the fuss is about myself. Dark body with a slight tan head. Smells of molluscs. Totally over the top in the mouth with nothing even close to finesse. Sickly sweet. Very sticky. Not my thing at all.

Bottle. [shared with faroeviking @ Plan B, thanks to Plan B for a taste of this!]
Pours a deep nutty red-black with a small creamy beige head - lots of lacing. Aroma is hoppy, lightly roasted with a touch of chocolate. Flavour is round, roasted, dry, chocolate and still light and fresh. A touch vinious, but never alcoholic. This is a wonderful brew!

Comments: Strong and spicy American strong ale with an oily and sweet palate. Rather classic Avery.

I liked it more on my last try, feeling that the hops were still quite expressive after a solid year in the bottle and the alcohol flavours were less obvious. Raising from 3.0 to 3.4.

Bottle thanks to Jens, rbesg07. Aroma has lots of pine, quite a bit of fruity yeast and balancing caramalt. Taste is similar syrupy malt character with piny forest hops balancing.

Bottle… Very dark crimson ale with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Decent retention. Loads of phenols and esters in the aroma. Notes of campfire smoke, tobacco, fig, chocolate-covered banana, pine and light molasses with just a hint of vanilla and a whisper of lactic acid. Moderately acidic and fairly sweet up front. Heavy, metallic bitterness on the backside. The alcohol isn’t overbearing. Medium to full-bodied and lightly oily with fair carbonation. Lightly acidic, stunningly bitter finish. Creative, but confused. A touch too bitter for my tender palate.

Pours a nearly opaque with dark mahogany hues and a thin, airy dark tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel with a hint of dark chocolate and big grapefruity hoppy notes with some doughy Belgian yeast. Body starts with a nice dark caramel malty sweetness and some plum and raisin complexity along with good bready yeasty balance and plenty of fresh citrusy hops throughout. FInishes with a crisp hint of lingering roasty bittersweet dark chocolate. A very unique and enjoyable Belgian/American strong ale. It’s kinda like a double IPA with some chocolate malt and Belgian yeast. I just wish this would be bottle conditioned.
