Commercial Description:
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Bomber. Poured deep reddish-brown with a dense cap of tan head.. set up nicely and left pretty lacing as it descended. The aroma picked up toasty redder fruits, toffee, and molasses with accents of brown sugar and vanilla.. oxidation is starting to set in, and the hops have faded, but some earth and citrus remained.. soft overall and very enticing. The flavor found even more molasses along with raisins and other assorted dark fruit at the core.. some toasty vanilla and brown sugar were laced throughout.. light earth and citrusy bitterness paired with prickly, warming alcohol on the edges.. finished long and mostly malty. Medium-bodied and warm on the palate with moderate carbonation.. spicy and warm, but well-balanced. This is breaking down, but it’s still tasty and interesting.

I am a fan of these dark IPAs showing up, a couple of them Canadian. I received complexity between a good amount of hops and malt and barley. One of the better Avery’s. Hoppy and dark and hoppy bubbly head. Very drinkable with supper. Good mouthfeel.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with tupalev. Almost opaque ruby-black, large foamy-frothy tan head. Peaty, ferric aroma, malty, carbonized, alcohol - like tart molasses. Taste is minerally, burnt, boozy - a complex mess of shifting components, but I like it. Thick body, astringent, burnt aftertaste. Odd, but good.

Bottle. Very dark brown body with a big foamy beige head. Weird aroma at first is an odd blend of sweet dark malt underlying strangely green hops. Dominant flavour is hoppy bitterness with a sweet sticky malt in the background. Dark, lightly fruity, light molasses character. Average to medium palate. This was actually pretty good, and the alcohol is surprisingly restrained for an Avery product, but there was a certain clashing of flavours that kept me from getting entirely comfortable with it. Perhaps a larger more contemplative sample would have had different results, I don’t know.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy with a frothy top finely sized dark tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a semi-opaque typically carbonated dark brown colored body. The aroma was brown malt and mild spice. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt sweet vinous and brown malt. A wonderful best in class brew.

Bottle. [Courtesy of Papsoe, thanks Henrik] Large and nice looking creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Color was lovely mahogany. Aroma of caramel, hops, fruit with some berries and spice. Seams very aromatic hoppy which would indicate a heavy dry hops process. Very full bodied with an average carbonation, dry and light alcoholic texture. Moderated bitter flavor with light sweet notes. Dry and bitter finish. Very drinkable. 15-08-2007

Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with a 2 finger tan frothy head. Big malty caramel, dense fruity esters, a light floral hop bitterness drying but not cloying
