Commercial Description:
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Bottled. A dark red beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of berries and spices. The flavor is sweet malt with primary notes of berries, but also a light touch of alcohol, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottle. Dark brown-ruby body with a large frothy yellowish-white head and oily lace. The aroma has plenty of fruits - orange, pineapple, and some sweet bread. Oily palate with chewy hops and bitter oranges. Not overly bitter though and finishing with pineyness. Pretty good but I didn’t find it to have much complexity.

(Rating #1250)

Bottled. RBESG. Ruby amber colour. Metallic, maybe bit edgy hopiness. Citris/mandarine, fruity hopiness a la Simcoe in flavour. Good bitterness.

Pours a clear brown color with a thin light brown head. The aroma is earthy with chocolate, hops and fruits. Flavor of resinous hops, chocolate and bitterness in the end. The body is light with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation.

Poured a dark mahogany with a fizzy/frothy light tan head. Aroma of sweet grapes, orange juice, and a touch of bitter pine and grapefruit rind. Taste is quite dry with notes of dark fruits and orange rind with perhaps a bit of toffee, quickly getting overwhelmed by alcohol. Finishes dry and a tad metallic without a lot of hops in the background. Decently complex and pretty tasty, though the astringency of the alcohol could have been more controlled. This would have been better with 1-2% less ABV.

Fascinating pour, with a frothy head. Deep dark, lovely color, ecru head. Thin bodied from the get go, boozy too. Flavors of smoky charred bread with raisins dipped in piney hop resin. Has a definite funky smell, like a smoky, fungal smell from your dorm room closet years ago...but more enticing than that somehow (probably because there is distinct cacao or other dark bitter chocolate). Weird as hell. Ernest is right, definite notes of ashtray in this beer, but yet, it’s not too bad. Did I say piney hop resin is draped all over this thing?

Bottle (650ml) shared with tupalev, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of jerc & mabel. Pours a murky deep ruby with an average size foamy somewhat-lasting tan head. Aroma of green hops, toasted malt, caramel, some alcohol and fruit. Flavour’s a little boozy with a weird but likable spicy/hoppy/sweet taste -- it’s hard for me to describe. Medium bodied. Not awesome but it is interesting and I did quite enjoy it.
