Commercial Description:
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover's delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

Color was carmel with scant eggshell head. Aroma was scenty with maltiness and a bit of citrus after wiff. Laces well with a lot of heaviness. after finishing this beer felt like I had lunch.

22 oz bottle Aroma is citrusy hops and sweet malt. Flavor is dominated by hops, not overly bitter though. Nice maltiness as well.

bomber into wine glass (for lack of sniffer). Aroma is intense citrus (grapefruit) hops combined with an undertone of malty sweetness. Pours rich wooden amber color with red notes and a creamy head that holds and even laces a wine glass. The flavor starts with a grapefruity hop presence with a thick crystal malt finish that adds sweetness to the hoppy (so much so it is almost sour) finish. Heavy and oily on the palate. Overall: this is a big fresh beer worth trying; I feel that this could just as easily (or more so) be considered a DIPA instead of a Barley Wine.

Bottle from Sparky27. Poured into a snifter, muddy amber color with a small head. Smells like sweet hops. Taste sweet malt and nice touch of hops in a barleywine. Heavier then medium texture along with a low carbonation. Easy to drink but not that smooth. Maybe because of the heavier texture. But over all a good beer to end my hectic memorial day work weekend. Thanks ERIC!

dark red with tan head. huge crystal malt flavor but a very strong hop component providing bitterness and flavor. both the malt and hop are well displayed and overall it is a very drinkable barley wine. very nice
