Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 6, 2005 An amber beer with a small light brown head. The aroma is grassy and hoppy. The flavor is very hoppy combined with notes of caramel. Nice Barley Wine with the alcohol really well hidden. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 21, 2002 Reddish brown, hazy. Big grapefruit aroma. Bitter. A very tasty typical American veriosn of barley wine. Papsoe (10551), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 19, 2005 (Bottle 65 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany with a creamy, off-white head of somewhat rough structure. Incredibly flowery hop aroma. Loads of sweet, filling caramel malt and some fat, oily hops. Decent body with a pronounced hoppy finish. 181105 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 3, 2001 Very floral aroma - hoppier than Behemoth or Horizontal. Balanced, very hoppy accent but a fair bit of sweet malts that dance with each other on the palate. Tasty, and certainly on the right track, but not ready to bang with the big boys yet. A little light on the palate. yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 25, 2008 22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy to murky orange with a lacing orange head. Dry woody and liqourice like hops aroma, solid. Flavour is subdued sweet at first and followed by a dry woody and liqourice pinehops flavour. Somewhat too brutal yet not without a certain inviting tastyness to it. Ends dry and bitter, lingering liqourice and wooden notes. Lacks some refinement - somewhat too brutal.
