Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours a clear copper color with a dense white head, nice retention, nice lacing... Citrusy aroma up front backed nicely by mildly sweet malts... Thinner than expected body, a few citrus hops, but more earthy and medicinal hops than i remember... Nice beer, not as great as i remember, but certainly a worthy beer in the IPA world...

Clear, pale orange. Light white head. Pleasant floral, citrus aroma. The flavor is pure pine and citrus. Slight bitter finish. Overall an outstanding regular IPA: tasty hops, not overwhelmingly bitter, medium bodied, goes down easy.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma is citrus, caramel, resiny, and floral. The flavor has a caramel malt base with nice floral and citrus hops. Medium bodied, decent drinking beer.

On tap. Poured a clear copper with a small white head. Taste was middle to better IPA and quite drinkable as I soon ordered another. Good mouth feel.
