Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours pale gold with a long lasting, big fluffy white head. Really awesome lacing. Nose is floral and citrus hops with a little malt/ corn smell. Taste is hops with a hint of malt and a nice bitter/malty aftertaste. Overall the hops dominate but it’s not overwhelming. Mouthfeel is about what you’d expect for the style. Not bad at all.

Bottle. Poured a gold tone with a slightly lacing white head. Nose was citrus. Flavors were too with a moderate malt back to it. Bitterness was mild. An okay IPA but far better to choose from.

12oz bottle. Clear gold with lots of carbonation streams and a sticky head. Fruity hop aroma with grapefruit and tangerine, some pine, and a light, clean honey sweetness. Well balanced flavors with lightly sweet, toasty, honey malt balanced by fruity hops - Kiwi and citrus fruity. Finishes dry with a firm yet soft and pleasing bitterness. Nice citrus-laden IPA.

12oz bottle. light haze, bright golden color, fluffy white head. Sweet aroma of ripened grapefruit. Is this a breakfast beer? flavor of rich grapefruit. Tastes like a fruit wedge! This beer is awesome. Decent malt foundation, lots of American hops. very hoppy, very balanced. How do you do that? This is delicious.

Super drinkable IPA. Bitter grapefruit and piney hops with some caramel malt presence. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Full flavored, no water. Lingering bitterness.

This is a great ipa. I immediately liked the flavor and I found the bitterness smooth and not overpowering. When I taste a beer I want to taste it and this one delivers. There is a meat to this balanced beer!

Pours golden with a medium white head. Aroma is very floral, but not overwhelming. Tastes very balanced, hoppy but with enough malt backbone to make it a very smooth IPA. Very easy to drink and a great session beer. A solid beer from Avery.
