Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours a cloudy yellow/orange. Aroma is strong floral hops. Strong, bitter floral hops on initial taste, but subsides with a sweeter finish. Has a nice hoppy aftertaste.

Bottle (35 cl) at Ölrepubliken, Göteborg, Sweden. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Floral and citric hop aroma with pine needles, on a solid malt base. Medium bodied and smooth. Long bitter finish. Nice!

Poured a pale clear golden yellow. Nose was big with pine resin, bitter floral aroma, and citrus zest. Taste was nice and dry, light bodied, small caramel sweetness, dominated by hops, plenty of hop bitterness, moderate hop flavor, PNW c hops, i’m actually pretty impressed for a cheaper IPA, this one is pretty damn good.

Smell is of tons of hops. Piny, resinous hops at first then citrus and grapefruit aromas come in.Malt is in the background with some sweet honey notes. Pours 3 finger white head, body is a translucent gold color. Head retention is pretty good and lacing is amazing Taste is obviously of hops. Floral hops followed by some bitter pine hops. Malt is not very much in the mix. Palate is light and well carbonated. Head leaves a nice froth through out the beer. Overall this beer is good. Semi sessionable , not too bitter. Not the best Ipa I’ve had but still pretty good.

12oz bottle. Pours hazy golden. Heavy hop aroma though the taste was not as hop heavy as expected (still plenty though). A pretty good IPA.

(Draught) Appeared as orange and cloudy. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma was very fruity and hoppy. Palate had medium body and freshness with medium carbonation. Malts, hops, fruitiness, citricness, lightly sweetness and bitterness could be found from the taste of the beer. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. Really good IPA.

Have had many in the avery taproom, finally rating a bottle. Aroma is a little pungent/cheesy wood with the standard Avery woodiness. Flavor is very roof-of-the-mouth woody pine hop bitterness with a sweet grapefruit to close. Bitterness lingers and is pretty coating. Nice, very well done "every day" IPA, nothing extraordinary.
