Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours a clear golden/straw color. Aroma is floral... of hops, citrus, and spice. Flavor is more of the same. A solid IPA. On tap.

From bottle. Aroma is hops, floral and citrus. Flavor is more hops, not quite enough balancing malt though. OK IPA.

Clear golden liquid with 2 fingers of white head. Mostly citrus aroma with orange playing the lead. Give it credit where it is due, this beer certainly isn’t a hop bomb, but it is an excellent balance of the malts and the somewhat bitter citrus hops. Nice creamy body, a beer that might not wow you but is a great example of a straightforward IPA.

Pours golden with big frothy head. Lots of hops in this one, some citrus, pine, and even a little spruce. Not much malt to balance. A little thin. Not bad but there are certainly much better ones out there.

Draught. HUGE hoppy aroma, spruce and pine. That carried into the flavour, but a little lighter. The hop tastes were more citrus hops and easy to drink. Pretty nice lacing. Well balanced IPA.

Not bad. Solid and exactly to the demands of the IPA style. As I drink more beer, I believe less and less in hop bombs and more in balance. This is not a hop bomb, but it is quite good.
