Pours a very clear pale color with a white head that sticks around for the finally. Lots of citrus notes. Grapefruit it seems. Very floral in the nose. Just the right bitterness that lingers well. Lots of hop pungency. This is definately one of the better IPAs Iv’e had. For an American IPA this one I will grab for again and again. Thank you Avery! The Lord bless the hop harvest. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2008 On Tap at the Frisco Grille in Columbia, Maryland. Nice cloudy orange color with a short lived small head. Aroma is pure grapefruit/citrus hops and that’s what is in the flavor profile as well, but there’s a nice malt backbone to keep everything together. very nice IPA. westknife (17), USA

It has the trademark qualitys of a fine IPA, Hoppy, citrusy, but a little smokeyness on the finish which made it superb. Had this in the bottle(poured into a glass of course) at the Box bar in Plymouth, MI cbeers21 (564), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Barnyard pine and citrus highlight the aroma. Subtles hops on the palate and a musty slight thinning funkiness. Quiet medicinal/chemical fruitiness. not bad AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2008 nice copper-yellow pour with medium white head leads to a nicely bittered ipa with a clean malty taste. A really nice beer that doesn’t hit you over the head with it’s hops, a rarity in today’s American market. joshwilfong (776), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2008 orangish golden with nice white head. a very nicely balanced IPA, with a strong malt component mostly of pale malt and a hop flavor with a solid amount of hop flavor and only mild bitterness. the flavor isn’t overwelming, neither is the alcohol, but it is a well balanced and very good version of the style DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2008 By now I’ve had 6 of these in my lifetime, so now’s the time to put in the rating... the appearance was a very golden-yellow/slightly amber color with a thick, white, bubbly head that faded away and left behind a sticky conglomeration of bubbles on the surface. The aroma was very grapefruity, with some tropical fruits thrown in there, a bit of pineapple and papaya... but also loads of sweet toasty malts. The flavors are fairly standard for the style, a very well-balanced mixture of bitter/citrusy hops and sweet toasty, bready malts. A nice medium-bodied mouthfeel with a clean finish, though not as astringent as some. A pretty good one for me, as I don’t like IPAs that are ridiculously hoppy. Hopheads may find this to be average...
