Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours a light copper/quasi-gold color with a white, fluffy, head. Smells of rose and citrus, nice balance b/w hops and malts, has just enough of a bitter edge, crisp and light bodied. Pretty good beer.

resin, woody, amber, very bitter, light sweetness, bitter, medium body. overall emphasis is definitely on the hops in this one, leaving some maltiness to be desired.

Pours a clear medium gold with a hint of amber, started to foam after I popped the cap, has a good amount of effervescence with a nice white creamy head, left nice creamy lacing on the glass, aroma of citrus, pine needles, some flowers, malt and sweet bread fragrance, faint fruit fragrance, has sweet malt and caramel flavors that are whooshed away by the hops, has a good bitterness at the finish and the hops linger for a bit on the palate, good mouth feel with even carbonation, a very nice balance of malt and hops, I liked this IPA and recommend it.

a little light colored for an ipa, more yellow than a dark amber or orange. Typical american hops aroma, lots of grapefruit, and citrus, with some pine. A nice amount of malt to balance in the flavour. A good IPA.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, faded yellow with off-white head. Smell is of dirty socks. Taste is just not right. Maybe the malt is more than it should be. Mouthfeel was bitter at the finish.

A wonderful aroma of citrus and pine hits you. The flavor is a bit more subdued. Not as much hop as the aroma might indicate. Very nice dry finish. Another winner from Avery.

Bottle... Poured pale orange with a white head. Aroma of leafy hops. High carbonation, with flavors of hops dominating over the malt that is there, a great bitterness at the finish.

Amber pour, off white fluffy head and some spotty lacing. Citrus hops on the nose. Slightly thin bodied with some decent hops flavoring, however I was hoping for some more maltiness
