pepsican (883), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Feb 12, 2008 Pours an goldish orang with a decent white head. Huge citrus and floral hop nose. Flavor has a nice citrus flavor to back it up (surprise!). A bit more pine and a tad bit of metal in this as well. Decent carbonation, slightly bitter. Average but good. demdeac40 (238), Etowah, North Carolina, USA Feb 11, 2008 Pours a beautiful orange with a huge white head and nice carbonation. The nose is ripe tangelo and honeysuckle. In the mouth it is all about hops. You think it is going to be too much and then you realize their is an incredible balance. A nice beer. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Feb 10, 2008 nice deep gold color with a small white head. a very small amount of hops but a very bitter smell. thicker than i was expecting from an ipa and the hops are quite tame. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Feb 9, 2008 pours clear glod, nice white head, nice hoppy aroma.very nice hoppy biterness, nice crisp finish leaves you wanting another drink.very drinkable.Had this one at flying saucer in cordova rustbucket0873 (145), Krikville, New York, USA Feb 8, 2008 pour is of a golden amber color with light head on it. The aroma is hoppy, wiht slight sents of grapefruit, and caramel. the taste is bitter of hops. This finishes nicely for my tasting. freekyp (900), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA Feb 8, 2008 Lemony and floral with scads of bittering hops, Avery’s IPA entry is more along the lines of an English IPA than American, though certainly with more bittering hops than an Englishman might apply. The hops are earthy and hit the back of the tongue incessantly.; malt character is subdued. The beer pours a nice light amber and the rocky white head leaves a thick sloppy lacing. The malt character becomes more prounouced towards the middle of the glass but the hops are long and forefront in the finish. This one won a gold medal at the ABF but I don’t see it. Its a good, but not great, IPA. scrizzz (1246), kirkland, Washington, USA Feb 8, 2008 tropical mango citrus aroma, clear gold. fruity character remains with a light dry bitter finish. dont get me wrong, i like it as an apa, but too tame for an ipa ketchepillar (475), Viña del Mar, Chile Feb 5, 2008 Grapefruit hops & a hint of pine. Palate is a bit thin, but not too bad. Finishes quite dry. A hint of dusty malt in the taste, but nothing much.
