biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Jan 31, 2008 Poured a nice deep golden color with orange hues and a nice white head that left decent lacing around glass. Aroma is hoppy with notes of grass, pine, and citrus. Flavor is the same, and is well-balanced with the hoppiness. This beer is nice and is not overdone. Very smooth and easy drinking. Good stuff.
sickassmick (80), Concord, California, USA Jan 31, 2008 beer opened and smelled nice. The pour was clear almost yellow with white head... almost budweiser looking. some lacing. Taste is a little burnt, nevertheless hoppy and not overly hoppy. Lower alcohol content than a lot of IPA’s. All and all a very drinkable beer. I need to try this a little colder I think.
Nice beer. csjones1 (7), Chicago, USA does not count Jan 28, 2008 Have had in bottle and didn’t really think much of it. Was nice, but just recently had on tap and big difference. Nice hoppy poppy delivery and the finish makes you want another. New fan. On tap. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jan 26, 2008 Yummy! Maybe it was because I was really craving an IPA or maybe it was just that good, but this beer was great. As soon as I cracked the bottle floral hops aroma rushed out to greet me. A nice blend of orange peel and floral aroma. The pour was a clear golden hue with a nice two finger thick white head. The taste was much the same as the aroma with a bit more of the citrus influence as well as a hint of malt. Very well balance and delicious. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jan 26, 2008 Saffron colored with some chill haze. Nice 2+ fingers of eggshell head. Lacing is immense, great retention.
Smell is a bit understated, with honey soaked piney hops.
Taste is also somewhat light. Malt sweetness along with some tannin-like bitterness imitates the character of honey tea. Some citrus hops are also present.
Tannic finish leads to a dryish mouthfeel. Carbonation is on the low side, which doesn’t match well with the sort of chewy body.
This is a quite tame IPA, which makes it very very drinkable. dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 26, 2008 12oz. Medium amber body with a slight haze and a white head. Aroma is fairly typical grass, pine, and bitter fruit. Body follows in flavors with good grapefruit, different malts and hops. Carbonation is medium, not noticeable one way or the other. Struck me as a very well balanced IPA with more complexity than some. A pleasant surprise more than anything else. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Jan 25, 2008 Updated: Jul 13, 2008A really excellent IPA. Pours a straw gold color with a finger of white head. Head disappears pretty quickly, but the floral aroma is great. Flavor is strong citrusy well balanced with a rich maltiness. It’s not as aggressively hopped as some IPAs that I love, but the flavor of the hops comes through really well. Nice crisp and clear hoppy aftertaste, too. It shoots. It scores. I dig it. Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Jan 19, 2008 Smells like a million other American IPAs. Tastes like a million other American IPAs with a Northwest hopface. Perfectly fine as a beer, and above-average for sure. Nice woodsy finish that might help me identify it in a lineup.
