Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pretty light color for an IPA with a nice heavy head. Aroma is of hops and pine or piny hops... Taste is really heavy on the hops, but still not overkill. Definitely not something that slaughters the palate.

Pours a clear amber with some nice cream head. Airy hoppy nose that gives some pine characters. Smells like a forest of vibrant pine trees. Flavor is meaty with piney attributes. Just a robust overall flavor profile. Not much complexity to it. It just hits you and stays that way. Feel is good on the liquid. Nice bubble to it as well. Overall pretty drinkable. Not really a hop bomb, and not really a dud. It is what it is.

Pours a deep gold color with copper-orange highlights. Pour creates a 1/2" fluffy white head which quickly dissapates to thin swirls of filmy foam. Hops come to the forefront in the aroma with notes of citrus rind, pine needles and spice against a faint sweet background of caramel malts, honey and cookie dough. Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with a fine carbonation, but seemed to finish somewhat thin and a tad watery. Crisp and refreshing hoppy flavor profile of fresh orange, grapefruit, pine and herbal tea come to the forefront followed by a backing of sweet crystal malts, light caramel, clover honey and floral notes. A moderate hop resin bitterness coates the tongue for the finish. Although perhaps not a memorable American IPA, still well done a worth a try.

Poured a nice deep golden color with orange hues and a nice white head that left decent lacing around glass. Aroma is hoppy with notes of grass, pine, and citrus. Flavor is the same, and is well-balanced with the hoppiness. This beer is nice and is not overdone. Very smooth and easy drinking. Good stuff.

beer opened and smelled nice. The pour was clear almost yellow with white head... almost budweiser looking. some lacing. Taste is a little burnt, nevertheless hoppy and not overly hoppy. Lower alcohol content than a lot of IPA’s. All and all a very drinkable beer. I need to try this a little colder I think. Nice beer.

Have had in bottle and didn’t really think much of it. Was nice, but just recently had on tap and big difference. Nice hoppy poppy delivery and the finish makes you want another. New fan. On tap.

Yummy! Maybe it was because I was really craving an IPA or maybe it was just that good, but this beer was great. As soon as I cracked the bottle floral hops aroma rushed out to greet me. A nice blend of orange peel and floral aroma. The pour was a clear golden hue with a nice two finger thick white head. The taste was much the same as the aroma with a bit more of the citrus influence as well as a hint of malt. Very well balance and delicious.
