Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

At first aroma was a bit sour but in the glass its certainly more hoppy, perhaps even some pine needles. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance and color. Initiall swallow is not too bad but don’t let up. Because when you do it’s bitter hops in yer eye. Each sips has a rude bitter medicinal feel to it. Yes sir, you can tell its 6%. About average carbonation. Good example of the style; bumptious and just plain offensive.

moderate hop aroma, a little honey. straw colored, adequate head, smooth down the throat, sharp hops, not quite metallic, just the slightest malt background, raggedy finish7

Smells isn’t too hoppy or floral or citrusy, but okay. Nice meringue head that tastes good. Flavor is dominated by bittering hops, too much so. Still the very aftertaste is somewhat smooth and enjoyable. Good, just not great.

(Bottle) Pours a dark golden color with a small head. Sweet, citrusy aroma. Nice solid palate, with average carbonation. Balanced flavor, which increases this beer’s drinkability. Nothing too wild here, but a very good IPA overall.

Attractive golden hue. Crisp and hoppy. Reasonable alcohol level makes it quite refreshing and easy drinking for an American India Pale Ale. Sweet malt glimmers through the hoppy taste. Lots of floral and fruity tastes to enjoy.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear golden with puffy off-white head and lace. Lemony citrus hop aroma. Mild sweetness, grapefruityness, with strong citrusy hop finish. Medium body and carbonation. I like this type of IPA. Yum.
