guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Jul 28, 2007 Clear, golden amber appearance with an average size white head and good lacing. Heavy dose of resinous hops in the aroma with a herbal note on the edge. Citrusy hop taste, dominated by grapefruit. Medium-bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel. "Malty finish"? Maybe buried deep on the aftertaste. But the only balance seems to be with the variety of hops. Crisp, bitter, lingering finish. Very drinkable. Eckato (89), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2007 Poured from bottle...brilliant orange with bright yellow amber around glass. Head all but disappears leaving a nice ring on top of brew...sharp grapefruit aroma...very hoppy in scent. Very hoppy in flavor also...sharp sharp...not as bitter as I would like...leaning abit the other way (that made a great deal of sense). Decent beer...above average but does not have that special something. radiomgb (1920), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jul 26, 2007 Bright orange in colour, good sized white coloured head - very creamy, good retention, great lacing. The aroma is floral, some pine and grapefruit, light caramel malts but the hops dominate. The chewy hops carry over into the flavour along with some caramel sweetness, lots of pine and some grass. Dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a lingering hop bitterness. This is pretty good, Avery’s smaller beers have much more balance then some of there bigger beers. Not a whole lot of balance here but I can’t really complain.

AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 25, 2007 A murky golden color in the glass. This leaves plenty of lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is bittering hops. Taste is absolutely wonderful! Wonderful bitter hop taste. Plenty of juicy hop flavor and bitterness to balance it out. This is a very well done IPA. Among the best. Crisp and refreshing, definitely won’t be the last that I have. starflyer58 (26), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jul 24, 2007 lighty/fruity/hopsy aroma.... very inviting....
Orange colored glasses bring tiptoes of hot summery days...
Finish is dry.... very dry... Brut... but it begins with fruit.... hops.... charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Jul 24, 2007 On draft at the Saucer. Has a deep copper body with a white head. Aroma is of citrus and pine. Resinous hop flavor with some malty, toasty backdrop. Finishes dry with a bitter note. blklab2007 (932), Connecticut, USA Jul 24, 2007 Updated: Feb 20, 2008pours a light golden yellow in color with a nice two finger frothy head toning down to a thin white layer on the surface and lighter carbination. smell is sweet hops, lemon, some pines, grapefruit, and another sweet fruit i cant quite pin down. mouth feel is medium and the taste is more hops then the smell leads on with grapefruit, citrus, and that mystery fruit that may be apricot. has some sweetness with caramel and is a good "session" beer with a nice hops flavor that is not too much and just the right amount of malt and bitterness to go with it. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Jul 22, 2007 Bottle nice mild pine notes , with a bit of citrus with mild straw malts.Light yellow color with a nice lasting moderate white head. Nicely done IPA not as malty as I would like nor quite as hoppy as it could be but nice and drinkable. I would consider it to be a nice session beer.
