Seriously all I could taste was grapefruit luckily, I like grapefruit. Good beer definitely not my favorite IPA very one-dimensional. darn1207 (548), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Okay, much better after the Redpoint. Golden pour with good carbonation and a big white head. Hops abound in the nose, grapefruit, orange, pine, but without resin. Smooth, yet bitter, taste with more pine and grapefruit. Some grassiness and malt in the finish. A true IPA that isn’t an Imperial with the wrong label. Excellent beer. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Updated: Sep 29, 2008Bottle. Clear gold with a huge, over-carbonated head that lasts with good foamy lace. Aroma is grapefruit and pine-grassy hops. Flavor is good balance of sweet malt and citrus hops; gets increasingly hoppier and ends with a nutty-cocoa and resin-crisp aftertaste. Smooth, dryish and easy, with surprisingly little tingle for all the hops and carbonation. Nice, widely available AIPA. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Classic affordable session-like IPA. Well balanced with piney grapefruit hop flavor. Faint mineral aspect. Pronounced floral, fruity aroma. Avery is shooting up charts as one of my favorite brewers. You can see the similarities with Majarja, Avery’s Impy IPA. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Appearance: Pours an oh-so clear golden hue with a splash of orange that looks reminiscient of apple juice. The last couple of weeks have been nothing but stouts and porters for me, so it’s refreshing to see some sharp, crystal clear colors for a change. White foamy head, but it’s dieing fast! Some great lacing throughout this beer’s final moments.
Smell: A fruit medley (pineapple, mostly) mixed with piney hop aromas. I’m not picking up much (or any) malt in the nose.
Taste: A light, delicate flash of malt followed by a rushing tide of hop bitterness with a long, spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: Very crisp and quiet thirst-quenching. Medium-light mouthfeel with a fair amount of carbonation. Not bad! It’s got good...
Drinkability: While India Pale Ale is not my favored style, I’m really enjoying this, as its got just the right amount of hops for me. Definitely as sessionable as an IPA can be.
Thanks again, Avery! b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
