Jwasciuk (194), Lowell, Michigan, USA Apr 24, 2007 Pours murkey dark orange with a creamy off-white head. Arom is moderatly malty of grain and cookies, with heavy hopp aroma of grapefruit and lime. lightly yeasty esters of rasins, apple and pineapple. Flavor is well balanced but overall light in flavor with hints of vinilla. Light bodied and watery with a livley co2 levels. Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA Apr 23, 2007 This beer pours a clear amber with a large frothy white head, that leaves sticky lacing on the side of the glass as you drink it. Faint aroma of citrus hops, nice sharp hop flavor, with a decent finish. A wonderful session IPA. dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 23, 2007 12 oz bottle. I’m hoping that somehow this was a bad bottle because I can’t imagine Avery intended the beer to be this way. The bottle opened fine and after Iwalked twney feet to go outside and pour it all that came out was foam, foam and more foam. After twenty minutes of allowing the head to disipate and pouring the rest in this beer had a honey like appearance and looked flat. Mouthfeel was flat I guess all that foam ate up the carbonation. Aroma, when there was some detectable under that GIANT foamy head, was citrus hops and flavor was mildly sweet with a slight bitter aftertaste but not much hops. Maybe I will rerate this one day but for now this is a pass. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 23, 2007 Pour was a thin copper color that was really more gold than copper. Slightly cloudy. The head was white and foamy. Nice thick three-finger variety. Solid rings of lacing. The aroma was and herbal, piney mess. Where I was expecting nice floral notes I got the smell of a backyard garden on a hot summer day in Oklahoma. Tomato and okra plants. The flavor was sour, herbal and only slightly piney. Methinks I may have gotten a skunky bottle. shrubber85 (2832), Wallhalben, Germany Apr 20, 2007 Bottle. Orange-grapefruit hops aroma. Light orange-yellow color with moderate head and nice lacing. Initially a slight sweet orange-grapefruit fllavor with a moderate hops finish. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Apr 20, 2007 Very enjoyable IPA with the quintessential look and feel of what I like in a hoppy brew. A hint of English malts and sweet and fruity NW hops. Perfect tawny body and bustling off-white head. Yum! Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Apr 19, 2007 Pours copper with a white head. Smells of pine resin, citrus, some floral hints, peppery and some sweet malty hints. Tastes of citrus, sweet malt. Mouthfeel is tingly with a bitter finish. VeloVampire (483), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 17, 2007 12 oz bottle - deep gold hue with a thick and fluffy two-finger head. Big pine, citrus aromas, along with some cereals. Wonderfully refreshing, with a honey-sweet malt backbone that firmly anchors all those glorious, glorious hops. Mildly bitter at the back of the palate, and very refreshing.
