SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA Apr 8, 2007 Botte: A really nice rounded ipa. Very balanced, a malt backbone that adds body but not much sweetness. Hop flavors and bitterness dominate all around. I get mosty spicy and floral notes from the hops. Not much citrus. Lingering bitterness. Really good. iradog (31), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 8, 2007 It has an orange tint to the body and a this head.It has a fruity aroma, closely resembling passionfruit. bierkoning (5987), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 5, 2007 Bottle. orange blonde color. Red berries, grapefruit and flowery hops in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with raspberry cake dough, earthy hops, grapefruit and mandarin. Earthy and oily bitter aftertaste. Pretty nice, but too sweet for an IPA. jonwayne4883 (401), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Apr 4, 2007 a pretty average IPA. flavor is good, and it is very hoppy, with citrus and malt going on, but ive had better. targhee (24), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 1, 2007 12 oz bottle. $10 per six pack in CT, $6 in CO. Full on hops, slightly sweet mouth feel., dry finish. Nice white head/ Great summer beer. Slightly prefer Dogfish 60 minute. k4df4l (154), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 1, 2007 Bottle - clear orange coppery with a light white head that dissipates to skim the surface. Floral and citrus hop aromas. Flavor is similar to the aroma with big floral/citrus notes with a solid malt foundation and a light peppery finish but not especially bitter. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA Mar 31, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Clear gold, with a large head that laced well. Nice hop bite up front with slight zing of lemon. Flavor carried to the back of the tongue with the hop presence diminishing. Solid IPA. I’m liking this Avery stuff. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Mar 30, 2007 Bottle: Translucent orange hued golden, huge rocky white head, clumpy lacing, lively carbonation.   Rich hop oriented nose.
Slight pepper.   Solid hop bitterness, slightly sweet, even softer citrus peel.   Malt background is just enough to balance out the
hop aspect.   This one is quite good, bitter yet not totally mouth watering.   Fairly well rounded body, moderate mouthfeel.
Clean finish, not overbearing bitterness at all, while remaining quite flavorful.   Solid example of the style.   I’m glad its
finally in Washington.   I would love to try this on tap.
