Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

The 12 ounce bottle poured a crystal clear perfectly amber beverage with a medium-sized white creamy head that was mostly diminishing and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was moderately hoppy with the major contributions coming from floral and grassy notes. There was also a subtle background of earthy leather. The body was medium-full with lively carbonation and a sharp crisp texture. The flavor starts out lightly bitter with citrus peel flavors and it stays that way through the medium length finish.

Hoppy Smell. Hoppy taste. Not enough room in this beer to taste anything but the hops. However, it was very enjoyable.

Clear and golden copper in color. Dense grassy aroma. Powerfully hoppy flavor with lots of grass and citrus notes. Malt profile is slightly underdeveloped, but not badly so. Definately a drinkable IPA if a tad simple.

pours yellowish/orange copper color. Aroma of sweet dried fruit. Lots of hops upfront which then fade into a very smooth sweeter flavor. Aftertaste is very good. I like the balance as well. This is a smooth ipa, i like it!

Coppery colored, big yellow head. Flowery caramel and hops in fruity and lemony aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is more crispy with hops and flowers, caramel and some perfumy tones also there. Good flavor, soft palate. Aftertaste is lemony and hopped.
