DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA May 27, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Had to grab something to get the awful Shiner Leicht out of my palate. This saves me with a nice whiff of grapefruit hops as soon as I pop the cap. Pours a cloudy IPA orange with a rocky head, dwindling with a bit of lace. Taste actually starts with thick, creamy malts, close to a caramel chew. Cheek to cheek with our favorite American hops; the 3C’s plus a puckery smack of Amarillos, I think. Like gargling with Pine-Sol, but in a good way. Keeps its balance all the way down. Yay. brewski519 (395), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA May 23, 2009 Poured a golden color with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, pine and flowers with a taste of grapefruit, malts and hops with some piney/floral follow up. Nice mouthfeel. Solid IPA pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA May 22, 2009 Pours out a mostly clear golden color with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is of citrus and slight pine hops and a little lingering sweet malt. Taste is citrus and pine hops with a balance of some sweet malts, slight floral hops in there also. Well balanced. Overall a very solid IPA. drseusszb200 (183), Florida, USA May 18, 2009 pours a golden color with a small white head. smells of citrus and hops. tastes of grapefruit and hops with a nice bitter finish. trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA May 14, 2009 Tasted as part of the Avery Experience at Brouwer’s. Pours the color of apple cider, with a small head. Citrus hops in the aroma, with an interesting note on the finish - almost like pear. Hugely bitter, with a great, full flavor for a single IPA. I’d pick up a sixer of this stuff any day. tmoreau (527), Lombard, Illinois, USA May 9, 2009 On tap as the special of the week at Brixie’s in Brookfield, IL. Pint served a light gold tone, with a thick, frothy head and foamy, clingy lacing. The aroma was smooth malt, citrus and pine, with the pine having the upper hand. The flavor presented more of a balance of the two resulting in a nice hop astringency tempered by a hint of malt sweetness. A good, standard American IPA. stephenbush (17), Austin, Texas, USA May 8, 2009 floral, citrus, woody, orange, clear, a minimal head, white foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, creamy, average carbonation, abrupt finish kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA May 8, 2009 12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of ripe fresh fruit, citrus, floral hops, pine, hints of grapefruit, caramel, honey. Generally medium body with a pleasing floral hop finish.
