| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 31, 2002 Intense grapefruit and pine hop aromas and flavors. Malt is balanced and clean, with a med bitter finish. Gold-copper color with short head, fairly quickly dissipated but great lacing all through the glass. Overall, highly similar to Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - but not identical. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Updated: Jul 6, 2008Pours clear copper with a frothy white head and has nice lacing. The aroma is hoppy citrus with some funkiness that smells like shoes. Medium body with generous soft carbonation. Taste is thankfully better than the aroma - thick dirty musty malt taste with woody hops. Finish is piney hops with plenty of bitterness. An okay IPA, but not my favorite. Rerate notes The appearance is about the same. The aroma has lots of hops giving of traits of grapefruit, floral and green onion. There is also earthy caramel malt. Medium prickly body with some smoothness as well and bright carbonation. The taste is much like the aroma, but the malt is more forward. Make no mistake though, it is still hop heavy. A nice IPA that was very underrated on my initial rating. radiomgb (2049), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Bright orange in colour, good sized white coloured head - very creamy, good retention, great lacing. The aroma is floral, some pine and grapefruit, light caramel malts but the hops dominate. The chewy hops carry over into the flavour along with some caramel sweetness, lots of pine and some grass. Dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a lingering hop bitterness. This is pretty good, Avery’s smaller beers have much more balance then some of there bigger beers. Not a whole lot of balance here but I can’t really complain.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2004 Medium golden color with a medium head that fades too quickly. Sour flowery hop aroma. The flavor is fairly well balanced but a little weak on both the malt and hops to be top IPA material. A good Bitter. patrick767 (2038), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2007 bottle - Pours coppery with a medium sized head that leaves ample lacing. The aroma has lots of citrus hops with grapefruit coming in especially strong. Strong citrus hops lead the flavor. They’re crisp and balanced by just enough malt to keep them in check. Rich and enjoyable, this beer is a fine example of the style. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2003 Flowery, sweet aroma, citrusy touches of grapefruit and lemon along with something like honeysuckle and pine. Faintly hazy golden yellow color, with a fine, uneven head and thin wisps of lace. Begins with a goodly amount of citric hop flavor and bitterness and actually becomes more malty as the flavor progresses, finishing on a honeyed, sweetish note, still blending with the everpresent fruity hoppiness. Mild palate, lightly creamy texture. An easygoing yet flavorful and quenching rendition. bitbucket (2035), Kirkland, Washington, USA
