Malty sweet flavor with raspberry cake dough, earthy hops, grapefruit and mandarin. Earthy and oily bitter aftertaste. Pretty nice, but too sweet for an IPA. faroeviking (6042), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Pours deep, hazy orange with a fine, creamy white head. Great duration. Aroma is hoppy, quite citric with notes of oranges and apples. A little bit of pine as well. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly smooth, powerfully hoppy, but not too dry. Some caramel in the background and a good bitter aftertaste. Nice IPA. hopdog (5576), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 27, 2004 Light orange/amber color with an average sized white head. Subtle floral and citris smells. Piney and overly powering bitter taste (not a good bitter, more of a sour bitter). After finishing this beer, the glass was covered with lacing. Struck me as a run of the mill IPA (there are a lot better ones out there). Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Clear deep golden amber colored. Mostly lasting small white foam. Direct Cascade nose, sweet and grapefruity. Easy to drink, not so agressive in terms of bitterness, floral, extremely straightforward example. A definition of an American IPA, for the better and for the worse. Mostly dry in mouth, growing a bit more citric acidity character than I usually like. Light-medium bodied, fair carbonation. Still I like Avery’s moderation on that one. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 29, 2003 Amber hue. Medium-sized white, creamy head. Excellent thick lacing.
Notes of spruce, pine, and everything else evergreen in the nose. Undernotes of apricot and other fuzzy fruits. Also black pepper.
The flavor is very bitter and moderately citrusy with a hint of grapefruit rind.
Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Crisp, clean and bitter finish. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
