Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Bottle. Light amber color. Moderate white head. Big citric hop nose. Body is medium. Malts are overpowered by hops. Finish is lingering hops.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Floral hoppy aroma with some citric hints. The flavor brings earthy, floral hops, and a bit of sweet malt. Decent, but not overly impressive.

12oz bottle. Filtered and lively, bubbling. Orange, copper hued. Finger of white head. Bright citrusy nose. Slightly doughy malty, spicy aromas. Fuller and lively. Crisp. Dry. Fruity notes. Spicy and zesty. Great full blown hop flavor. Fruits like grapefruit and apples. I really liked this brew!

12 fl. oz. bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Clear dark golden color, nice off-white head. Aroma is typical American hops. Flavor is malt, moderate sweet, hops and fine, but not extreme bitterness.

Large head, clear golden. Pungent Cascade hop aroma. Big hop punch up front, good bitterness throughout. Long bitter finish. Very well done IPA.

Tastes like I’m chewing on grapefruit rind; has an unpleasant bitterness.

A flaming bright yellow tint in this one with some nice head. Smells like hops. Has a floral hop dominated flavor, yet seems to be watered down. Uninspiring, though I expected alot from this one, so it remains slightly above average as compared.

Sweet, fruity hop aroma. Hops are a little subdued. Cloudy orange body with small, off-white head that is mostly diminishing. Excellent lace began to form on the sides of the glass before the first sip. Piney, peppery hop flavor that is not as sweet as the aroma suggested. Actually could use most malt sweetness for better balance. Becomes a litle more balanced at mid glass as it warms. Some sweeter notes prevail, even reminiscent of fruit loops? A good IPA, but it leaves me wanting something more.
