Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

The pour was orange with a MASSIVE rocky head that looked closer to the froth on a milk shake than a beer. Nice hop aroma but nothing else. The flavor was standard IPA with a sharp hop bite in the begining.

12oz. Pours a clear thin orange with a white foamy head. Nose is light hopps, very dull and unexciting. Taste is pretty thin with light hopps here and there. Finishes with a slight bitterness. Didnt do it for me, seems weak and avg.

Clear light yellow orange with a nice lasting white head. Floral hop aroma. Flavor is mostly hops, and full bodied. Really nice tasting hop tea beer.

Crystal clear orange hovered gold. Thinner medium head of dusted white froth. Keeps a fine skim and thin partially bubbly collar. Thin lacy sheets coat the glass with some icicle patterns. Aroma is pretty nice here. Some wiffs tend to be stronger then others but stays generally forward and invitingly crispy with citrus. Comes across dry and pungent with a light cannibis stink with mixing notions to old citrus rinds of lemon, grapefruit, and nectarine. Some smokey fresh wood notes in there too. An interesting nose that no doubt has some hops to it. Taste is welcoming with a clean profile of well-rounded paled citrus upfront. Tenderly dry with a fresh biscuity dough centering. Kinda crispy and crunchy yet smoothly balanced. Fine finisher, the citrus really turns the corner on the palates’ back end. Bitterness is squeezed in with a semi raw citrus rind/peel sourness thats adding more well placed dryness. It tends to be parchingly subdued in its strength but very nice to let coat the tongue and palate with fluffy little hop bits. Feel is about medium with a smooth clean texture and carbonation. Has a good portion of balanced dryness in both hops and malts. Favorable finish helps add to the fun of what is conceivably the best part of its character. Overall an overwhelmingly fun IPA to drink. More then one will be needed as its citrusy dry nature and clean, snappy drinkability won’t be a problem as it glides down with ease. One of Avery’s better beers.

Fairly tight aroma, just a little bit of citrus. Well done basic piney cereal flavor. Solid IPA.

Lightly speckled golden with a foamy white head. Great aroma - resiney and piney, perfumey with a appreciative malt sweetness to compliment the hops. The body is very bitter and resiney with a great malt backbone. Long and nice.

Copper gold color, decent head and lace. Citrusy hop aroma, touch of toastiness. Flavor was very hoppy, citrusy again, bitter finish. Pretty well made, refreshing. Thanks CapFlu.
