Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Bottle, from Halftime Beverage. Good nose, Citrusy orange/grapefruit with a hint of nuts. Pungent. Clean orange color. Good head that faded quick. Bitter flavors, grapefruit, burnt, tinny kinda thing. Some honey/toffee too. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, Bitter citrus finish. Good brew. signature PNW, even if it is in the Rockies.

Clear gold/copper. Small, fizzy, off white head. Pungent, venomous, resinous, floral, piney hops dominate the nose. Tasting adds citrus notes and subtle malt support. Nowhere near balanced, which in my oppinion is a good thing for an IPA. I want a face full of hops when I reach for an IPA. The medium palate is balanced though, which is also a good thing. Solid brew.

On tap. Pours amber with a small head. This one is all hop, and it’s kinda unique. The hops are really fruity, like mixed fruits, which reminds of bubblegum or even fruit loops. There’s a fair amount of grassiness as well, which mixes well with the grainy bitterness of the malts.

Bottle. Aroma of huge meadowy floral hops with citrus hops in the background. Flavor remains flavorfully hoppy with those floral notes, good malt presence, but nothing sweet; highlight on the hops, and a well done highlight. Big flavor and still very light and forgiving on the tongue. Very nice stuff.

Very nice orange look with good offwhite head with notes of grapy and flowery armoes with following flavornotes of similar experiences. Longlasting dry and bitter finish for a very good beer for the style.

12 bottle: clear orange gold with a slight haze and a sticky off-white head. Strong evergreen aroma with a bit of sap and lemon zest in the distance. Nicely carbonated and full of citrus bitterness. Long, slow and wet bitter finish: bits of pepper, coriander, and other herbs and a bit of perfume. An easy drinking beer, that is nice by the 6-pack.
