Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Nice floral/citrus aroma. Apricot color with a thin white head. Starts with genuine grapefruit, goes a bit thin for an instant, then grapefruit bitterness persists. This is really good stuff - I’d recommend comparison to Hale’s Mongoose.

This is still a decent IPA. Farily light copper color. medium head. The aroma is a little on the light side with orange peel and a little pine. I also detect a little floral note. The taste is thin at first with a little bite of orange peel and some pine. Overall, a nice, relatively light IPA, would be great for a session.

Slightly darker than straw hue, small head and good lacing. Piney and grapefruit aroma, undertone of spice and herbs. Starts off bitter hop, grapefruit tang. Mellows out on finish, smooth for an west-coast style IPA. Dry and lively mouthfeel, thin to medium-bodied. I'm surprised but the low average score, I'm found this to be a very approachable beer. Recommended for hop-heads and non hop-head alike.

Poured a clear amber with a medium ized long lasting white head. A big citrus aroma, grapefruit and mandarins. Flavor lightly malty sweet with the middle and end hoopy and bitter. Medium bodied and slightly silky.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-hazy orange amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of distinct grapefruit and piney hops with a light caramel malt in the background. Taste is typical bitter IPA style with a medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of grapefruit zest, some multi-grain and caramel malt with a touch of white pepper. Finish has a mild bitterness with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. It’ll keep the hopheads happy.

Clear medium-golden pour with a very nice initial layer of white head (receded after a minute or so. Nice lacing. Bright grapefruit and piney aroma. Flavor was typical for the style.. bitter citrus and pine with a caramel malty backing. Bitter on the palate, with a medium-length piney finish. Very well-crafted, but could’ve used a bit more depth/complexity.

Bottle (12oz). Slightly hazy gold with an amber tinge, average foamy white head. Lovely resin/spruce/citrus hops, some sweet malt and yeast, but mostly just a nice juice, tangy, acidic hit of hops. Taste is very bitter, the spruce hop character is dominant, it’s acidic almost to the point of being sour, maybe a hint of orange pekoe in there with the malt. Decent body, light carbonation, quite astringent and acidic, but surprisingly quick off the tongue and not as much bitter aftertaste as I thought it would have --- solid, if simple, IPA.

Pleasant looking .Small hue of particles, creamy white head. Aroma; superbly developed, wild rose, medium acidic hops, meadow flowers. Soft yet very distinctive sure of it self. Flavour; All that hops need some malt support and here they have it. Good? No, great, lucky to have another great, superb composed IPA.
