Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Intense grapefruit and pine hop aromas and flavors. Malt is balanced and clean, with a med bitter finish. Gold-copper color with short head, fairly quickly dissipated but great lacing all through the glass. Overall, highly similar to Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - but not identical.

A very enjoyable IPA. Pours out to a dark gold, almost amber color in the glass. Aroma is that of grapfruit. Mostly hops in the taste, as per the style, but remarkably balanced. Nice hoppy finish.

Lightly speckled golden with a foamy white head. Great aroma - resiney and piney, perfumey with a appreciative malt sweetness to compliment the hops. The body is very bitter and resiney with a great malt backbone. Long and nice.

A floral aroma dominates this IPA. The flavor continues with the aroma hops and finishes with a crisp bitterness.

i like all of avery’s beers, and this one is fruity and flavorful enough to be a rogue product. mango peel orange-yellow, very light haze, like an ozark morning. citrusy and dried fruit, swell flavor and comparatively lite-bitter finish. send some to your thirsty troops abroad! maybe i should rate this one extra high to offset certain weenies who don’t like IPAs and drag the collective rating down...

Peach color. White head. Smells like grapefruit, like ruby red. Maybe the peel, bitter smelling. The bitterness in the flavor is a little reminiscent of grapefruit. Very hoppy. At least it is a sharp bitterness. Great for an IPA. Probably the best I have had.

Draught at Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, Houston, Texas.
Creamy off-white head, clear orange body. Hoppy and flowery aroma with a creamy tone behind the bitterness. Hops is dominating in the flavor along with flowers and nuts. Dry and bitter and a classic IPA. Thick mouthfull.
