Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Not as hoppy as I expected but very well done. Nice golden color. Chunky lacing. Fruity aroma (citrus, apples), slight notes of perfume with hints of dust. Medium to full bodied. Gentle carbonation. Just enough malt sweetness to hold up the citrusy hops. I like my IPA's like this, strongly aromatic with a bit less emphasis on bitterness.

A light yellow or golden pour. Very transparent body and very noticeable bubble activity. The head was big, white and creamy in appearance. The aroma was gentle with grapefruit peel scents. The taste started off smooth and had a light grapefruity bitterness. Then, the bitterness sharpened at the end. Over all, this one was enjoyable and I’d have another.

pours yellowish/orange copper color. Aroma of sweet dried fruit. Lots of hops upfront which then fade into a very smooth sweeter flavor. Aftertaste is very good. I like the balance as well. This is a smooth ipa, i like it!

Deep amber with reddish & apricot highlites and a thin off white head with average lacing. Fresh hoppy aroma but with some peppery spiciness and malt in there as well. Extremely well balanced flavor with plenty of robust hops, malt, apple sweetness and a little light toast. Crisp mouthfeel and finish. Just the right amount of bitterness for an IPA that could keep going down all night long. This is a winner.

Poured an effervescent golden with a large fizzy white head. Nice aroma of some grapefruit and pine needles with a bit of candy sugar. Taste is lighty sweet with nuances of grapefruit and pine, leading to a fairly clean and lightly hoppy finish that is only slightly dry. Though this isn’t bursting at the seems wtih hop flavor, it has nice hop flavor and is very drinkable.

Very nice orange look with good offwhite head with notes of grapy and flowery armoes with following flavornotes of similar experiences. Longlasting dry and bitter finish for a very good beer for the style.

Great session IPA, but a bit one dimensional. This is a very crisp, clean IPA and I will drink it again. Beautiful, crystal clear amber color, slightly to the yellow end. Great head and lacing, and a very clear hop flavor and aroma. I just wish the hops lingered longer and a little harder on the tongue. Taste is almost all in the back of the mouth, none up front which leads me to my thinking of it as one dimensional. Very nice IPA overall though.

Awesome, hoppy aroma. Cedar and lemongrass overtones. Beautiful light-trapping honey amber. Flavor is textbook A+ IPA. Not too bitter or dry, just perfect, I think. Great bitey finish and enjoyable aftertaste. Drink this!
