Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Straw yellow with fruity, citrus, hops, and lemon flavor brings the beer into the wide open. Has some carbonation. The taste is citrusy, hoppy and a bitter mouth feel. The finish last a minute or two and is very refreshing.

Bottle. Aroma of huge meadowy floral hops with citrus hops in the background. Flavor remains flavorfully hoppy with those floral notes, good malt presence, but nothing sweet; highlight on the hops, and a well done highlight. Big flavor and still very light and forgiving on the tongue. Very nice stuff.

12oz. Medium amber body with a slight haze and a white head. Aroma is fairly typical grass, pine, and bitter fruit. Body follows in flavors with good grapefruit, different malts and hops. Carbonation is medium, not noticeable one way or the other. Struck me as a very well balanced IPA with more complexity than some. A pleasant surprise more than anything else.

very light color, good head and lacing... very hoppy as expected. Recommended to me from Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville... good call on this one. I love IPAs and this one just about has it right. Not much malt to it that you can tell over the hops. For a hop heavy beer, you could do worse than this one... and it would be hard to do a lot better...

A really excellent IPA. Pours a straw gold color with a finger of white head. Head disappears pretty quickly, but the floral aroma is great. Flavor is strong citrusy well balanced with a rich maltiness. It’s not as aggressively hopped as some IPAs that I love, but the flavor of the hops comes through really well. Nice crisp and clear hoppy aftertaste, too. It shoots. It scores. I dig it.

Pours a clear light orange with decent off white head. Aroma is floral and piney hops, a little yeast. Flavor is malt up front on a bed of floral and citrus hops, slight fruitiness. Very pleasant bitterness in the finish. Solid IPA.

Bottle courtesy of sloth. Pours a clear light orange with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of floral, citrus, and bitter hops. Flavor of nice floral hops with a slight hint of bitter pine in the finish. Nice hops/malt balance. Excellent IPA.
