Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

orange with a small off white head. Aroma is hoppy, earthy, resinous, with malt and grains, taste is grapefruit, citrus hops with a sweet, and lightly fruity middle, dry and bitter long lasting finish.

Bottle. Loads of lychee and pineapple to match the grapefruit nose. Fresh fruitiness is extremely enticing. Clear golden pour with a creamy, lacing beige head. Moderately strong bittersweet flavor with a nice hop profile. Fullish body with a dusty, hoppy aftertaste and light notes of fruitiness mentioned afore. Floral and citrusy, indeed. Excellent non-brutal IPA, would take this any day.

Classic affordable session-like IPA. Well balanced with piney grapefruit hop flavor. Faint mineral aspect. Pronounced floral, fruity aroma. Avery is shooting up charts as one of my favorite brewers. You can see the similarities with Majarja, Avery’s Impy IPA.

Poured a oily, fizzy orange amber from the bottle with a fizzy white head. The first aroma was strongly hoppy, overwhleming almost. The aroma then mellowed to an inviting citrus, hop and pine aroma. Initial flavor was bitter and the bitterness continued to the back of the palate. The overall flavor had a mouth watering citrus element to it that make me want to keep drinking. I thought this was very enjoyable, good session beer.

Pours golden with a medium white head. Aroma is very floral, but not overwhelming. Tastes very balanced, hoppy but with enough malt backbone to make it a very smooth IPA. Very easy to drink and a great session beer. A solid beer from Avery.

I was at Specs and decided to try it without knowing anything about this beer. When I got home and tried the first one I was floored. Strong hoppy aroma, nice foamy head. The first drink was fresh and piney with hints of grapefruit. Finishes nice and malty. I had been drinking Dogfish Head 60 IPA lately and this is probably equal or better. Great beer.

Bottle. 12 fl. oz. Clear golden orange color with thick, fluffy, white head. Strong grapefruit aroma. Nicely balanced palate. Short sweet flavor quickly followed by a big dry, bitter finish. Solid IPA.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium fluffy head. Had a wheat grass aroma and some citrus. The taste was a good balance with the sweet flavor and the bitter finish. a very good IPA
