This is an excellent brew. Tthe aroma was of hops and the flavor of hops. It is an excellent balance of malt and hops. The IPAs are super. This IPA is very drinkable. The head was frothy but hung around. This is was one of my first IPA in awhile. It is special. It has a bitter taste that will keep you coming back. My second on 6/24/05 was just as good. I did not want the glass to empty. Another was enjoyed Christmas 2005. This is one of my favorite IPAs. Another on 5/11/06 when I brought my son back from VA tech. Lots fo citrus. Well balanced between malt and the citrus and floral hops. nice bitter hop finish, not the hop monster like some IPA's, but a very pleasurable drinking experience nonetheless. aaronh (201), McMurray, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2003 Orange amber in color, it pours slightly hazy with a very nice head that displays excellent retention. No noticable carbonation trails in the beer give it a very rich appearance. As the head fades, it leaves a layer of foam typically found in malty brews. The aroma is very hoppy, with distinct citrus characteristics mixed with a hint of rose florals and a touch of sweetness that almost conjures up the image of bright pink bubble gum. On the tongue, the malt character of this beer is strong, with noticable sweetness evident through the balanced hoppiness. The finish is noticably bitter and very enjoyable. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Lovely, restrained, hop flavour of grapefruit & pine, nicely balanced w/ just enough malt. Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2007 Bottled. An orange-amber beer with a slight haze under a thick bubble beige head. The aroma is very grassy and grapefruity - very fresh. The flavor is sweet and very hoppy at first with strong notes of grass, then a hay character comes along, to be overwhelmed grapefruit notes, which carries thru to a dry hay like and very bitter end. Somewhere in the middle a slight note of caramel creeps in - but this is mainly a hoppy beer nice. presario (3002), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
