Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Bottle. Pours golden with a tinge of orange, along with white fizzy head. Nice aroma kick of hops and pine. The flavor is similar, but nicely complimented by the malt. This may not have the bite that some hopheads desire, but I still like this. Nice bitter finish that is refreshing and not too dry. Lingers nicely at the back of the mouth. Good IPA that I will happily drink again

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 30 July 2008) Pale amber colour with huge, white head leaving lots of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with notes of grassy, citrussy hops and a distant hint of smoke. Fruity, malty taste with bready malt and a grassy, dry finish with distinct notes of citrussy hops. Notes of sweetness. Very nice balance. Very nice beer.

Clear almost pilsner yellow with a touch of orange and has a fine white head. Aroma of fruits (citrus), hops and flowers. A bit of yeasty notes (wheat). Softly carbonated with a smooth feel. Fine balance between the powerfull hops and sweet malts. Fine lacings on the side of the glass. Nice bitter hoppy (Sharp & soapy) finish that is lasting. Great IPA!

On tap @ Brouwers Cafe. Fairly typical, yet delicious IPA from a fine brewery. I could sit and smell this all day. Perfect marriage of malt and hops. Top of it’s class.

Pours a clear medium gold with a hint of amber, started to foam after I popped the cap, has a good amount of effervescence with a nice white creamy head, left nice creamy lacing on the glass, aroma of citrus, pine needles, some flowers, malt and sweet bread fragrance, faint fruit fragrance, has sweet malt and caramel flavors that are whooshed away by the hops, has a good bitterness at the finish and the hops linger for a bit on the palate, good mouth feel with even carbonation, a very nice balance of malt and hops, I liked this IPA and recommend it.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange yellow, white head. Aroma is citrus, wheat, malt, grass. Flavor is citrus, hops: crisp, fruity, floral. No peat! I like it.
