Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

mmm, mmm, mmm, nice tangerine hue, some clouds with white foamy fluffy head, nice lacing, smell of hay and some pine, looks like citrus fruit and tastes like sweet hop nector, medium body and carbonation, nice balance, not overly biitter. Just very drinkable, over and over.

Cloudy amber with fruity nose. Surpisingly full-bodied, malty flavors with big orange and bread undertones. Good finish. Hops restrained by the full flavors. Love this style.

Pours a slightly cloudy orangey amber with a one finger off white head. Aroma is primarily citrus with some pine definitely in the mix. Taste is very pleasant but mild citrus hops with some pine. Little resin. Rather thin and easy to drink. A very pleasant IPA that does a nice job of balancing the bitterness. Very sessionable IPA.

Poured a nice orange with little head yet good carbonation. I think we need some color classes here at ratebeer as this beer is described as pale yellow to amber...that’s a huge range. Anyhow, the aroma was floral and citrus hop notes with dominant citrus. The flavor was just awesome all hopes with some pretty outrageous grapefruit notes. There is just a slight balance of malt which makes this beer great, but it is mostly hops as they kinda smack the malt down and say...not in my house beotch. The hops are just all over the place throughout this beer but there is never a puckering bitterness that leaves you with old man face...just smooth for an IPA. A great beer that deserves an even higher rating.

This is a great ipa. I immediately liked the flavor and I found the bitterness smooth and not overpowering. When I taste a beer I want to taste it and this one delivers. There is a meat to this balanced beer!

On tap at Yard House (West Palm Beach): The aroma and taste is straight up IPA. What distinguishes this ale from most others is the citrusy feel throughout- not so much lemon, more grapefruit and orange. Hoppy for sure, and has that IPA-like taste of liquid bread. Carbonation is anything but overly fizzy. Extremely well balanced.
