Hazy orange amber hue with a small mostly diminishing white head that left little lace. Flavor is spice, Belgian yeast, citrus, and a slightly bitter finish. Palate is light to medium bodied and lively. A decent Belgian but only because it is weak. More of the same crappy Belgian yeast funk. JohnnyZ (81), USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2008 The bottle poured bright golden-amber with fluffy orange hued head. Settles into pretty good suds. The aroma is sweet, with apricot, maybe, and somewhat soft earthy florals. The flavor is biscuity with some juicy citrus and a mild bitter bite. The belgian style comes through, although the finish is a bit dry. I like it, but I wouldn’t choose it for a belgian. beerbill (1954), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Bottle sampled at NFB&WF ’08 at Martha Clara Vineyards. Pours a mostly clear dark gold. Pleasant aroma of fruit and some yeast. The flavor is again fruit along with a bit of yeast and some sugary sweetenss. An ok beer, but probably not something I would come back to. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2008 The Avery Karma Ale was good and consistant through out but it just didn’t have that full flavor I am accustomed to look for in a Belgian Ale. It poured an amber color with very little head. There were some fruit aromas and taste in there but they all seemed to be held back. I will say it was very feel balanced and finsihed pretty dry. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2008 12 oz. Slightly hazy orange-amber with a large meringue head that lasts well. Light aroma of tart apple, wheat and tropical fruit gum. Flavor is a mild mix of the same, with some touches of citrus, toasted nut, peppery clove and banana. Occasional metallic twinge. Near-medium body is slightly watery, soft and dry. Mild flavors are well-balanced. Easy drinking and nice for what it is: a small spring-summertime Belgian. drfabulous (1244), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Super sweet ale. Another twist on what we’d expect. We expect sugar candy from a Belgian, but Avery goes over the top. No problem. Served with roasted salmon. BREWMUSKCLES (1075), New Jersey, USA
