| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2008 bottle - Pours slightly hazy light amber with a one finger head. It has a mild aroma of malt, citrus, and esters. The flavor is sweet malt with a touch of yeast and some mild hops that shows up mostly in the finish. It’s alright, but Avery makes many better beers. robertjm (413), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Pours small hea which quickly dissipates. No aroma per se. Says its a Belgian? Honestly, it reminds me more of an English ale than a Belgian. Light body. Perhaps there’s a little risidual sourness in the yeast strain which could possibly make it akin to a Belgian? Still, a bit dissipointed of all the beers I’ve had from Avery. Elizavyeta (110), Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2008 A relatively light and nutty ale with a distinctive dark brown appearance. Aromas of tasted malt and molasses prevail.
Actual flavor tends more towards the sweet, somewhat fruity side with a yeasty and earthy tones, but without the usual complexity Avery offers.
Pair with a nice grilled pork chop and pear compote. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/amber with a billowy white head. Aroma is sweet and spicy, with strong notes of hops, honey, and spices. Taste is light and creamy, with only the slightest sweet hoppy flavor to speak of -- perhaps a twinge of malt or grain. The most inoffensively neutral beer I’ve ever had. demitriustown (702), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2008 12 oz bottle: Pours a clear golden with a hint of amber and a nice big sized white foamy head that lingers for a while. Aroma is fruity, light citrus, and somewhat grainy and bready. Taste is somewhat underwhelming with a grain note and flat with some fruit and lightly spiced with some caramel malt notes as well. palate has a lingering fruity sweetness. Overall, It’s a decent brew but the taste is rather blah in my opinion. Cheers! tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours murky dark copper with a thin white head. Caramel, butterscotch, mint, cilantro and wet grass on the nose. Not overly pleasant. Fairly bland flavor. Some lighter toasty malt, watery grain. Slightly zingy finish with some wet cardboard for added effect. Kind of watery. Messy and unimpressive. blipp (1700), Newark, New Jersey, USA
