Commercial Description:
We believe in Karma. We suspect most of you do, too. It truly is a global concept. Very simply put, "you get what you give." Inspired by this principle and the wonderful farmhouse and pale ales of Belgium, we've created Karma Ale, a decidedly fruity and estery ale, intricate in body and nose, all driven by a unique Belgian yeast strain. Remember, good things DO happen to good people. Here's to being good!

This starts with a quick scent of sweetness, that quickly fades and is replaced by a slight tea like smell. Pours a clear amber with hints of red, and a quickly fading head. The flavor comes in with a slightly sour apple like taste, with a switch to a slight bitter taste. Very light on the palate. Overall, not horrible, but not really good.

Bottle. Let me start off by saying that I was not impressed with this "belgian ale" (I use the term loosely). Lets start with the okay things: clear golden body, floral hops, honey....hmmm...yeah I think that is it. Weird green apple acidity in the aroma which killed the others. Also where was the yeast? Not good.

Kind of a buttery caramel aroma, with a grassy herbal hop, and light fruit notes such as orange and persimmon. Aroma really reminds of Fat Tire, very much. Reddish orange color, a little like tea, smallish head, and not very lively looking. Not much but light bready malts, a very vague fruitiness and a lingering spicy and herbal bitter hop. Holy crap this even tastes alot like Fat Tire. Guess what, I hate Fat Tire. Actually, I don’t hate this one, I think because it lacks the unpleasant bittering hop of Fat Tire. But in the end I’m no fan of this either - it feels quite a big bland actually, like beery tonic/mineral water. Bad Karma for me.

12 oz Bottle-Pours a clear light Amber color w/a moderate off white head. Floral Hopped aroma. Crisp, clean flavor which put me more to mind of an Amber Lager/Ale than a Belgian. Traces of yeast, caramel, spice, fruit, & roasted malt. Light but flavorful, easy drinking, I’d almost call it a Summer Amber. Would be great @ the beach or a cookout. Long spicy finish. Don’t grab this one expecting a typical Belgian, but if you like Ambers, go for it!

An ok brew, but it was lacking alot on flavor, abit watery, somewhat fruity, but not great, drinkable, but not worth seeking out, was excited to try this one, left me dissapointed.

Wow, one of the few Avery beers I just wasn’t impressed by. Couldn’t believe this was on tap at a Belgian beer fest....not belgian tasting at all. Def. not true to style; more of a very light pale ale. I guess even Avery has to have something for the masses...but why try and pass it off as Belgian?

Had this on tap as a guest offering at Barley’s the Smokehouse. To be honest, I sampled this after several hoppy brews so it had a tough spot in the rotation. Nose of caramel, grain, and some fruit. This brew is a sparkling honey amber. The white frothy head is mostly diminishing, and leaves light lace. The flavor has good balance but is pretty thin. Tastes like AB amber bock or something. The light watery body is lively. Not too impressed.

This is very different from any Avery brew and a uinique Belgian style to attempt. Tastes mostly like a tart version of a Saison. There are some nicer herbal flavors nad bitterness in the after taste. You expect a slight malt flavor to kick in but it doesn’t...overall it has a very tart and bitter character to it. Overall, a very nice addition to their Belgian lineup.
