Commercial Description:
We believe in Karma. We suspect most of you do, too. It truly is a global concept. Very simply put, "you get what you give." Inspired by this principle and the wonderful farmhouse and pale ales of Belgium, we've created Karma Ale, a decidedly fruity and estery ale, intricate in body and nose, all driven by a unique Belgian yeast strain. Remember, good things DO happen to good people. Here's to being good!

Yeast and light spices make up the aroma. Murky golden brown pour has a medium to full palate for the style. Lightly spiced flavor, watery, but just not enough of anything going on to really catch my attention. Bland is the word for this one.

Bottle. Brownish amber color, minimal head. Aroma is subtle but has notes of caramel malt, lemon, yeast and wet cardboard. Flavor is heavy on the caramel malt with a bit of an astringent note in the background. Lemon is there, too, but it is mild and has a bit of the lemon peel bitterness to it.

Pours a golden amber, with a medium fluffy white head. Smells, sweet fruits and citrus, hops. Not a whole lot going on with this one. Not terrible though, but a little boring. Tastes sweet malts, mixed with hops, a little orange in the finish. Not really exciting but still drinkable.

Amber pour with a mostly diminishing off white head and little lacing. Aroma is very benign, consisting of soft lemon, caramel malts retrained by a yeasty trimming, orange, grains and hay. Flavor is nice, what there is of it. Were the goal to hide the flavor deep within the bottle, they did a fantastic job, though I hardly think that was the objective. Tastes are of more lemon and orange, backed up by nutty caramel malts. Carbonation is firm but carefully interwoven, at least it works well here. Acidity is too high for a Belgian inspired brew. Alcohol is not very well masked for a beer that isn’t high in it to begin with. Finishes soft and without any tumult. So average. Belgian? About as much as The Reverend, but at least that one has some flavor. Nothing offensive here but nothing to get excited about either.

This ale pours a nice medium amber color with a slightly foamy head. Not much of an aroma but a pleasant mild hoppy flavor with a hint of malt. Somewhat of a tart lemony after taste. Not bad, basically what I expected.

12oz. bottle... I’ve liked everything from this brewery so far. This one pours amber with a quickly dissapearing head. The flavor is of american piney hops and a slight twang of apple cider. Enjoyable, but I did expect more from a "belgian" style beer from Avery. Their take on the quad was much better.

Pours a clear copper amber with a quarter inch of white foam. Okay head retention, scant lacing. Very mild sweet malt in the aroma. Not much to get excited about here - a light toasted malt, with just enough light hops to be in balance. A little hop bitterness shows up in the finish. Light to medium body, very little carbonation. Belgian? I think not. An underwhelming little American pale ale.
