| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2005 Bottle: Poured a dirty orange color ale with a huge white bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of Belgian yeast is clearly evident as well as a mix of spices. Taste is also dominated by the Belgian signature yeast with a nice touch of hops at the end. Good take on the style without being remarkable. BBB63 (4252), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2005 12 oz bottle served in a pint glass: Nice clean amber hue with a small but lasting head and some lace. The nose has some apricot, banana and pear esters; light sugar; grassy and floral hops; caramel and toasted malting; with a hint of pepper and clove. The taste is a bit sweet but I found a good balance of grapefruit and bitters for balance. The flavor is a bit short and becomes a bit boring after a while. An average brew that some will like more than other, quaffable. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2005 Bottle. Medium sized off-white fizzy head, fine-small sized bubbles, fair lacing, carbonated, transparent, and an orange copper hue. Aroma was malty, mild hops, sweet, and spicy. Sweet, malty and hops not overly done. Mouthfeel was tingly. Light-medium body. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2005 12 oz bottle pours amber with a short offwhite head that stays pretty well and laces in layers down the glass. Aroma is spice, caramel, a bit of raisin, and some apricot. Flavor is bready with some notes of raisin, caramel, maybe a bit of brown sugar. Palate is medium bodied. Decently carbonated and smooth to drink. This wasn’t bad just seemed very average to me though. I expect more from Avery beers. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2005 A light, fruity Belgian style. Can’t knock on this, it was very drinkable, with passionfruit notes, but a little too sweet to quaff. Appreciated that it wasn’t overly hopped, though. Notes of nuts, dough, fruity esters. Spritzy and light-bodied. boto (1339), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2005 12oz. bottle: This beer pours a hazy, dark golden color. Quite a bit of head to it, with some lacing. The aroma is OK, with notes of some floral, spices and sweetness. Slightly fruity and a hair bready. The taste is decent enough, but un-remarkable. Slightly bready, dry, and a hint of sweetness. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Pours yellow-brownish, aroma is sweet apple and malty. Sweet apple/pear malty bread with some hints of spice, all subdued. Light bodied and finishes clean, was surprised this was intended as a belgian, but I found it drinkable and thirst-quenching. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2005 [bottle] Pours a dark amber color, with a decent head. Tastes alright, but smells better- this is nothing unique. Leaves you with a weird sweetness on the palate. Not the best Avery.
