Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

[Bottle] Pours deep brown in color with a brown colored head. Dark malts and sweet caramel in the aroma. A moderate amount of roasted toffee and cocoa in the taste. Earthy hops are also quite dominant in this beer, which seems to clash a bit with the dark and malty backbone. Fine carbonation levels and a good palate overall. A pretty good brew, but the balance could have been a little better.

pours brown with a 2 finger head. The aroma is caramel and malts with a hoppy tinge. There is a floral background and almost smells like a chocolate orange. The flavor has hoppy undertones and mixed in perfect., Never had a dry hopped porter other than this, and this is a great brew.

Pours dark brown, nose with some hops and a lot of malty sweetness. Tastes up front of slight piny hops and then dives into the chocolate/coffee taste. Slightly unbalanced, but a good attempt and a decent beer!

The aroma is immediate floral and citrus hops, followed up with sweet chocolate and caramel. A little unexpected for the style, but nice. Deep brown, almost black, emits the tiniest redish light when held up to a light bulb, tan head. The flavor is earthy hops, dark chocolate, caramel, sweet and hoppy. The finish is an earthy resiny bittering. The mouthfeel is medium, slightly thick, creamy. Unique porter, enjoyable.

Bottle. Deep brown body with ruby highlights. Frothy, tan head, slowly diminishing. Roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and molasses. Hint of resin, grain, caramel. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet, lightly acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Light caramel taste is quickly overcome by roasted bitterness. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Nice balance in the flavor.

ehhh, didnt like this one too much. heard some good stuff but, didnt live up to the hype. aroma is very nice. roasty and smokey with subtle hints of cocoa and coffee. tastes like a very bitter chocolate bar that was carefully placed in a pine tree in the woods for a year. aka bitter and way piney. also didnt taste the caramel and maltiness like in most other reviews of this beer. to each his own i suppose, not for me though.

12oz bottle. Pours light brown. with a thick tan head . ok lacing. Nose was roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavor was much the same with a little earthy thing and some caramel. Finish was thick. low carbonation. some metallic follow through. ok for a porter.
