Suttree (2336), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 5, 2008 Black, with a thin brown head. coffee-ish aroma, maybe a touch of red wine, too. Thin bodied, in a good way. Coffee, woodsy flavor. I was surprised that I hadn’t had this one before, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Thanks to BVM113VR for the trade! cgarvieuk (2535), Edinburgh, Scotland Oct 3, 2008 Bottle at home ... deep black ... light sweet malt with a light plesent hop ... dry slightly smokey malt.. very soft with a light carbonation ... gentle hoppyness in background. beergod! (44), Houston, Texas, USA Oct 3, 2008 Nice dark in color with a nice brown head. Wow great nose, that of soft roasted grain and light hop. Taste is great! Very layered first you get a nice dark malt, followed with a slight caramel taste, and finally hops. Full bodied and one of the better porters i’ve ever had. malrubius (455), USA Oct 1, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark brown black with lasting tan head and lace. Roasted chocolate coffee and cinnamon aroma. Very roasted chocolate covered raisin sweet fruitiness. Mild bitter fruity finish. Very drinkable, sessionable. Medium body and carbo. Nice mouthfeel. Not much going on but still nice because of the roastiness. lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 30, 2008 No head, dark brown, almost stoutish in color, some lacing. Aroma is a sour, nutty malt. Burnt nut is the dominant flavor, hoppy, but balanced by thickness of the malt. Carbonation is very flat. I was kind of excited about this one, and pretty disappointed.
