Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with a medium creamy light tan head. The aroma is very hoppy with caramel and chocolate. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is a roasted malt with cinammon and a spicy dry finish. A good porter from Avery.

APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque dark brown color with large tan head that has good retention. Lots of sticky lacing. AROMA: Sweet caramel chocolate and roasted malt. There are hints of roasted nuts. FLAVOR: Not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. Predominate flavor is the roasted malts and reminds me of coffee. There are some piney hops that coats the tongue at the finish. MOUTHFEEL: A medium-full bodied beer that has a creamy almost chewy texture. Soft fizzy carbonation. DRINKABILITY: A quality easy drinking porter. However, I would prefer a little more sweet malts to balance it out. NOTES: BBCSD-0901-Carl

Just a fantastic Porter. It is well balanced (for Avery!). It seems more like a stout than a porter, but it’s still great.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick Mocha colored head of good duration, with attractive lacing, over a brownish black clear body.......nose is primarily hop varieties, some slight sourness., and a bit of coffee...tastes initially of sweet malts then finishing with a large lingering hop bitterness, ? rye....mouthfeel is thick. The heavy hop aroma/taste/bitterness decreasd as it warmed. I did not like this as much as anticipated, and I think the hopping was a bit over emphasized even for a strong porter.

Black with a good tan head. Aroma is of hops. Goes down smooth with a hoppy bite followed by a delicious malty sweetness.

Color is black with a hint of ruby. Carbonation is light making a thin tight off white head. Aroma is roasted with nice hop tones. Taste is bright and hoppy. Starting with medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish is sharp with a malty roasted flavor and a bold bitterness, then a hop flavor comes on in the end. In the after taste the hop flavor turns to a flower like taste. Overall its ok, a little bitter for a Porter but still nice.

12 oz bottle pours deep ruddy brown, with an intense dry hop aroma (cascade and magnum?). Flavor leads with citrus hop flush and choclate malt.. Texture is creamy, but a bit lean.. Dynamic so that as it warms, malty porter character comes through and dry hop notes take a backseat to balance.

Bottle. Pours a clear black that turns mahogany when held to the light. A fluffy 3 finger tan head leaves decent lacing. The nose is light chocolate and a lot of citrus hops. Taste is ashy cocoa, light coffee and more hops in the finish. Medium, semi-creamy mouth feel. Hoppiest porter I’ve had, but I like hops so it’s all good.
