Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

No head, dark brown, almost stoutish in color, some lacing. Aroma is a sour, nutty malt. Burnt nut is the dominant flavor, hoppy, but balanced by thickness of the malt. Carbonation is very flat. I was kind of excited about this one, and pretty disappointed.

Dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and hops. Flavor is chocolate, hops, roasted malt, and some caramel. Kind of sweet throughout, but that’s not a problem. This is a good one. Thanks for this bottle, Andrew.

Had this at the Orsted cafe/bar, Kobenhaven 13-09-08 Don’t recall who shared this one, probably Ian (Harrisoni) but thanks to whoever. Poured dark, dark brown with nice chocolate and hops. This is smooth enjoyable and moreish, notes are getting less and less as the evening wears on.

Roasted malt and fresh milk aroma. Initial flavor is malty and sweet, but quickly changes to a nice roasted malt and dry hoppy flavor. Finishes with a good hop bite. Very good porter and another winner from Avery.

Bottle from Copenhagen. Pitch black, strong liquorice aroma. Smoke, salt, fennel, coffee. Silky smooth, it lacks the little extra bite to lift it further. But it’s great stuff.

Black with a low, but dense grey head. Nice roasted aroma like cafe latte with orange. The flavours continue along the same line in combination with stong coffe notes, dark chocolate bitter hops.
